" I am well aware that plenty of entrepreneurs routinely put everything on the line. That’s not me. I don’t want to have everything at risk. I prefer to partner on projects. I structure deals that do not require me to provide the upfront financing; I am fine taking a piece of the profits if they materialize.
Most often they do. Sometimes they don't. That's fine with me. I have always seen my net worth rise by following my dad's advice to be content with 50 percent of the profits rather than shoot for the moon and end up with 100 percent of nothing. One hundred percent of nothing isn't in my DNA. "

FLEXIBILITY * TRANSPARENCY * FAIRNESS
I am flexible, transparent and eager to do business with other like-minded designers and local, independent professionals in the home industry who are desirous of establishing a mutually beneficial, ongoing working relationship.

TRUST . . . paramount with any relationship
Oftentimes designers are reluctant to work with retailers for fear of losing the relationship with the client
. . . that the client will perhaps in the future go directly to the retailer.
I get that.
We keep a file of the designers and their clients in case a client returns to the store as a customer and makes a purchase; that way we make sure the designer gets a commission of that sale.
----------------------------
If you have a client, a project, or an opportunity of any kind -- no matter how large or small -- we would appreciate working with you. Separately, or with your client and you -- again, whatever works best for you.
Because it really is all about you: me pleasing you so that you can please your client. We're here solely to make you look good with your client and assist with the outdoor - indoor furnishings. While always respecting your individual style, we assist you in developing a functional and appropriate result.
I only ask one thing that benefits us both, as well as your client:
That you please let us know who the client is you are sending. It's also helpful to "friendly remind" your client to make sure they tell the staff when they first come in that they are using a designer.
We all want to avoid situations where a client comes into a specialty outdoor furniture retailer and 1) neglects to mention they are working with a designer; 2) uses that retailer's in-house designer(s) and staff for research, education and ideas about materials, brands, various choices, options and styles of outdoor-furnishings; 3) requests the outdoor retailer's in-house designer come out to the client's home; 4) requests our staff spend days doing layouts, making requested changes, working up pricing; 5) requesting and receiving a volume discount. Then after all of the above -- true story -- client's designer contacts the retailer to say that was her client.

P. S. Likewise, if you are a gated community, restaurant, architect, landscape architect, builder, general contractor, etc., we gladly extend the same courtesy and invite.
We encourage all of you who are local and independent to return the favor and use local and independent businesses
for your needs. We're all in this together fighting the On-Line Industry and need to support each other.
